This one is my favorite. It says it all. Man I had a lot of fun. 100 miles give or take. Way too short. Up in the Bruce in Ontario. I left my gas eating twin engine Wellcraft at the dock. Had just as much fun on a few bucks worth of gas. Awesome.
RK My dads stock KO. He tells me I put over 100 miles on it just going up and down the driveway. ha Last summer on vacation we got it out. That's what started it for me. A year later I have my own. RK Quote:

Father knows best.
![]() Aren't you glad he gave you the "bug"? -kevin Well, . . . 'cept that I'm in East Texas where "winter" only means your air conditioning bill goes down, and it rains a little more often. The VeeDub just became my only enclosed means of transportation, cuz I loaned the Nissan Truck to a cute little college girl, (who loves me like I was her daddy) and I have all those VW parts just sitting there taking up Mini space so I'd just as well get them installed, y'know? -kevin |

yea but.... it still could wait for winter. just trying to give you an excuse to work on the CT instead.
I'd imagine the VW is fun too. You gotta love the lack of complicated engineering on the things. My dad used to buy those way back when after he and my mom bought their first house and money was tight. he actually bought my mom a washing machine and brought it home in the front of the thing!! Wish I had a pic of that!! he also assures me they float... somewhat. Got into a flash flood and it washed him down the road for a minute. He rocked the thing back and forth to get the tire to just hit the road and got out of it. Or maybe... it's one of those story's that just got bigger. ![]() RK Quote:

The shores of the Great Lakes contain some of the nicest scenery to be found anywhere. Surprisingly few people seem to know about it...that's probably a good thing, too. There's only a tiny slice of northern boreal forest in the lower 48, and this is where most of it exists. I agree that cedar, hemlock, fir and maple trees make for some amazingly scented air. Throw-in a slew of waterfalls and vast acreage of thimbleberries (at the peak of season, of course) and summer just doesn't get any better. Look up "summertime tranquility" and you'll find pictures of this area (well, they should be there
)True, it doesn't last long, but that only makes it sweeter. In terms of riding, it's ideal. Even a totally stock CT70 is right at home. This is CT70 sightseeing at its finest. |
