Racerx is right, these engines are truly amazing. Right out of the box, very powerful and from what I've heard can be upgraded to 183cc. Something about 100 mph on one of these doesn't get me too fired up. Hold on to your wallet, but they're worth it. Oh, and by the way, mine was 122 miles.

The Honda Nice 110 is an Asian-market bike. It is still in production but the motor changed in 2003 and won't fit without major surgery. New Nice 110s are all built from new OEM parts, used examples are easier and cheaper to source. A lot of guys choke on the price, but that's just what Honda engines cost circa 2008.

It's not a sales pitch just one of those rare instances where reality exceeded expectation (how often does that happen?) I started off using a Zongshen 110 because it was the best of the Chinese motors and cost about a third less than the Honda, at that time. The Chinese motor just didn't cut it, awful shift quality, noisy, lots of vibration and somewaht short on power. I replaced it with the Nice motor looking for smoother operation, mainly, and was surprised by just how much smoother and gained 7mph to boot. It's usable power, enough to cruise along at 50-55mph even when my wife rides along with me, the speed range where I like to ride. Electrical output is roughly double that of a CT70/Z50 motor, enough to power a 12v 35W/35W halogen headlight with some useful night time visibility.

As for pure output, unlike 2003, cheaper horsepower can be had. But, for big power with reliability, the Honda lower end is as good as it gets. It's damn near bulletproof, just not cheap. In stock tune, it's not going to set many speed records; however, low-to-mid 60s makes it the most potent stock 110 that I am aware of that will bolt into a CT70 frame. In stock form, it's an unstressed setup which bodes well for lotsa' miles/years. In case you hadn't noticed, I accumulate miles quickly.

The next bike I do a engine change out I'm going to look for one. I like the lifan in this bike, in the pic. I did put a 32 rear sprocket on the back gained 4 mph now runs 61mph the next hot rod bike will have better front end with a disc, better rear shocks, and maybe one of these honda nice engines. it all takes time and a lot of overtime lol. Where can you buy a nice 110?

I'll settle for a motor I have to rebuild.

You have to be patient since they are hard to come by. There's a couple of places that sell them in Thailand, but one must be careful. PM me if you want to know more and the names of reputable sellers overseas.

It's buyer beware with used engines located on the other side of the globe. Sometimes you get lucky, other times not so good. These bikes are real workhorses in the countries in which they were sold, not prized toys. I've seen some really thrashed examples. They can be rebuilt, that's one of the benefits of real Hondas. But a motor can end up costing more than the purchase price by the time hidden problems are corrected...and Nice engine parts are very reasonably priced. Another potential pitfall is getting an engine through US customs. EPA regs changed drastically in 2006 and even though these engines are pre-2006 and legal to bring in; dealing with the Dick Cheney charm school dropouts at the EPA can be an "experience"

I suspect the incompetence transcends administrations. Just a guess.

(With apologies to Pete Townshend, again, . . . )

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

(Emphasis mine)

The song is 37 years old, but the nasty world of politics still hasn't changed. So my advice in all cases is to vote for the lying crook that you think will do the least damage.

Does that sound cynical?
Or is it just reality?
