CT110 parts - 11-10-2008, 06:56 PM

I have 2 questions:

1. Would CT110 footpegs fit on the Honda Nice 110 motor?

2. Would Honda CT110 rear shocks (OEM) bolt up to the CT70 frame and swingarm or are they too long?

dunno if shock length has changed accross models but i have a k4 ct70 and a 88 ct110 and the 110 shocks are roughly an inch shorther and have firmer springs

The CT110 footrest assembly is so far off, that you'd not be able to use so much as a single bolt hole without major mods.

Thanks RX

On the subject of rear shocks I have found a pair of new CT110 (Australia is the homeland after all of the postie bike!!!) and the seller said they were 330mm long.

I'd think they could be a good set for the CT70 frame?

I've never quite been able to figure out why no one but the Aussies were so loyal to the venerable CT110. Honda must have sold a lot of units to keep producing them for a single market.

The shocks should fit, with no more than having to change the metal bushings to CT70 diameter. I tested a pair of CT90 shocks some years back. They were shorter than their OE CT70 counterparts, but that wasn't a serious issue. Ride quality was nothing to write home about, that was the deal breaker. No idea how late-model CT110 shocks would work out. Honda kept going with running improvements, so the shock specs for a `90s vintage version could be anything. The call is yours alone...

gday from oz

The reason honda keeps selling the ct110 in aus is the fact that australia post buy thousands of them every year. So common over here its ridiculous. Australia Post gets rid of them after 10-20,000 kms at auction. A year old bike can be bought for under a grand(about 650US at the current exchange rate), they're cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to rego, pretty much bulletproof, and parts are plentiful. There are also a few charity postie bike rallies every year where a group of 100 or more guys and gals spend a week or so riding them across the desert flat out. For the past few years its been the highest selling bike in australia. The forks make a good upgrade/replacement for ct70's, the drum shoes also fit ct70's and the loom/reg/flasher/horn make chinese engine swaps easy. My mate also bought one the other day for 50 bucks which runs perfect, and cause they're so common you dont feel bad thrashing it till it breaks/blows up, last one he had we bent like a banana

Ah, so we have the Australian postal service to thank. Sort of a defacto government subsidy that does a lot of good That these bikes have cockroach/Keith Richards indestructibility is a fact long established. Until now, however, the reason why these bikes were basically abandoned by the world outside of Oz (except for hardcore enthusiasts, of course) was a bit of a mystery.
