Storage/Toolkit - 08-24-2008, 10:59 AM

Are any of you running some sort of storage or toolkit above and beyond the one located on the underside of the seat?

I'm planning a lengthy ride soon and I've been debating on carrying some additional tools, spare bulbs and spark plugs ect. I'll sometime ride with napsack on my back but would prefer to fashion something a little more permanent.

I've stashed a few items in the battery box area, but I'm limited by space as thats were I've located the my CDI controller, Voltage regulator and flasher relay.

The area between the taillamp bracket and rear fender looks roomy enough to attach a small box or bag?

Any thoughts?

Matt

If you're going to be traveling to the boonies you'll want to carry a couple a master links, spare inner tube (or patch kit), maybe spare throttle & clutch cables and wrenches to fit everything on the bike. That's on top of what you already listed. You want to be able to remove the wheels. Chain adjustments are a constant and there's always the possibility of getting a flat tire.

Source a luggage rack and either fashion some sort of package that can be tied down with bungees or fit a top box. With the recent proliferation of scooters, there are a number of top boxes that will fit a CT and can be had cheaply.
