72 CT70HK1 Neutral switch question -
01-01-2009, 05:18 PM
I can't seem to find much on this. I believe I am looking at the neutral switch. It's a small post with a spring just above the front chain sprocket and has a single wire going to it.
My question is- how does it work and can it be easily replaced? Mine looks like it has a broken piece of black plastic at the base of the shaft/spring. Also looks like a related broken piece of steel just below the switch and slightly left held on with one screw. Just a piece of bent metal. Thanks |

I've never worked on a neutral switch however this is it. I believe you just need to unscrew the holding plate (screw below switch) then remove the switch.
Both items can be purchased from the Dr here. ' ' ' ' Goodyear, AZ "Yeah but its a warm heat!" ![]() '72 HK1 - Work completed! "Transformer" '72 HK1 - Red & Ready to go! That is it. My metal holding tab is broken and the black plastic around the switch as well.
I will order new. Any idea how it actually works? Looks like the wire just pops into the end of the switch. Is it operated by oil pressure? Thanks Kevin |

I have no idea how it works exactly. I was just wonderin' if its possible to install and make one work in an earlier model CT. The (H)K0 series.

[/ATTACH]kevhed:
The Neutral Switch is is controled by a copper connection in the gearbox that grounds it to the frame that flash shows in the picture, it is easily bent. (see the copper connection in the top right ). Good Luck |
