Rear shock repair - 11-30-2008, 06:40 PM

Hi

I fabricated a spring compressor and im have problem breaking down the rear shock. I compressed the spring and the top mount just spins. I appeared to be making progress but now the top is just spinning. I had assumed the rod was threaded into the bottom portion of the shock. I thought the top would just spin off and the spring would come apart. Am i missing something?
Thanks

Frank

You will have to get a wrench and hold the nut part while spinning the upper part of the shock.

It happens Frank, personally I have experienced a few of the "Duh's" and can even speak in tongues when rebuilding small Honda engines!
