Why Is It... - 01-03-2009, 06:18 PM

We can order both a 44 or 46 tooth rear "H" sprocket but not the original Honda 45 tooth? Or if we can does someone wanna share the source? Also if you are ordering one of the two, which is your favorite? And why?

I bought an original Honda 45 tooth sprocket from cycle parts nation's website a few months ago. I just checked and it's not listed anymore. I must have gotten one of the last ones. My bike had a 44 tooth aftermarket sprocket on it when I bought it. Go with a 46 if you want a little more low end torque. Buy a 44 if you want top end speed. Bottom line is there's not much difference.

I couldn't find a 45 tooth either so went with a 44. Mine had tons of torque on the low end so why go 46? In reality I doubt you can really tell the difference except for top end.

If you trail ride I would go with a 46 tooth or higher. Road riding, I suggest a 44 or lower.

Heh Heh with my big butt on the bike I don't think it'll care if we're running a 44 or 46...........

I know there isn't' much difference between 44-46 but just wondered why the 45 ain't out there. Thanks.
