This is my first post here. I don't wish to appear rude. I live in the mountains outside Durango CO. A couple of months ago I came across this Mini Trail 70 and then yesterday acquired it in exchange for helping a guy work all weekend.
Serial number CT70H 106211. What I have is a frame with wheels and a motor that is frozen. The carb is missing. The wheels won't turn. The handle bars are junk. There is no seat and no headlight or tailight. The plastic gas tank is here. Someone tried to adjust the handle bars with a torch. He broke one of them. This bike cannot be sold legally as a motorcycle as there is no title or other paperwork. I was helping clean up on a ranch this past weekend and the owner was about to cut this piece of history into scrap. I came across this website and am so jealous of what some of you are able to do. Give this scrap iron a new lease on life. I bought my first Honda 250 Scrambler in 1964. I currently ride a Honda VTX1800R and my wife an 1800 GL Goldwing Trike. I drive a Honda Element and use a Honda snowblower. I guess you could say I am a Honda guy. Have been for more than 40 years but I don't do restorations cuz I am not able to do the work. |

Yes, and excuse me again for not knowing how this works. I posted this info and pictures for anyone who might wish to buy the bike. I don't have any idea what it is worth; if it is worth anyone's trouble.
So I will ask $200 and the buyer can pick it up at my place outside of Durango CO. If the bike were in any better shape I might undertake the effort. I will be looking for a Honda 70 that I could ride in the hills around my place. I just can't get this one to that point. Anyone want it? I do like this website. And thank you for the privilege of posting here. Mac from Durango macmusick@gobrainstorm.net |

I fiddled around with this bike and could take it apart easily enough. But then I'd have to deal with the bits and pieces and ebay and etc. Would someone want it for $100.00? Going once....
Here is my address if you might with to check the cost for shipping. 418 Rendezvous Trail Hesperus, CO 81326 970-769-0802 macmusick@gobrainstorm.net ![]() |

Getting someone to come and pick up the bike in-person is a longshot, this is a big country. Fortunately, the bike can dismantled pretty quickly and shipped in three boxes: engine, front, frame & rear. Cut off the tires & pitch the handlebars to get rid of around 10lbs of dead weight and it should be possible to ship for around $150. It's a 4-speed H model, generally the most sought after, so someone should be willing to pony up a C-note plus shipping.

If you have never been to Durango CO it is worth the trip. Ride the Durango/ Silverton locomotive. Go to Mesa Verde and maybe even the Grand Canyon or Arches Nat'l Park.
Between my wife and myself here is what we currently ride: 2003 Goldwing/ Hannigan trike 2003 Honda VTX1800R 1998 Valkyrie Tourer I drive a Honda Element. The first new car I ever purchased was a 1971 Honda 600 sedan. I drove a Honda Insight before moving to the mountains of CO (where I can use the all wheel drive). And I have a Honda snowblower. Ha! So you can understand when I saw that little Honda about to be cut into pieces and tossed on the junk wagon that I had to get it to a safe harbor. The real reason I am working on the ranch is because that will be the site of the First Annual Sugar Pine Ranch Rally. See our website and if you like bikes big or small you might want to attend. http://www.sugarpineranchrally.com So if you do happen to be coming out this way I will keep the mini in my shed for you. If you prefer that I box it up and ship it in three boxes send me $250 and I'll get it done for you. But please understand that this is far from a working bike. Parts are missing. The frame including the front forks and the wheels and the shocks are very serviceable. The shifter clicks but I couldn't say if the tranny is good. The kick stand works. The plastic gas tank hasn't rusted. Actually rust is not much of a problem here in the desert. What is here is about 1/2 a basket case... LOL Tnx, Mac |
