I can't vouch for the validity of this guy, he may be just another crackpot selling a book.... But it's worth listening to.

Nuclear power in France - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is the only solution to combat the oil price rise. Perhaps an electric dax???? I'm paying US$1.71 per litre of diesel for my diesel discovery. That's US$6.49 per US gallon (3.8 litres) Believe it or not the main reason for oil shooting up is not the real supply-demand scenario but speculators driving up futures. A war will not solve our pathetic addiction to oil. We need alternatives that reduce the pressure on us to use oil. Wars just make the world more unstable and drive prices up further. The tipping point is coming. Dax on I say |

Regular unleaded is sucking cash from the wallet at rate of $4.15 as of this week. Diesel hit $5.19 last week, though it's now settled back down to the bargain price of $4.99
Half the price we're paying is due to devaluation of the USD. The rest a heady mix of supply/demand and speculation, mostly the latter. The actual cost of gasoline across the EEC is actually lower than in the US...80% of their pump price consists of taxes (they tax the s**t out of gasoline across the pond ) The EUR, the currency in which the lion's share of global oil transactions are now denominated, bought half as many dollars when king george was first appointed. Wars have bankrupted empires for millenia. The damage has already been done, the tipping point visible in the rearview mirror. Now, sadly, it's just a matter of how much time it will all take to play out, probably two to three decades, maybe longer. Will a CT70 fit inside a Prius or Smart car? ![]() |

$4 for cheap stuff and $4.20 for 93 octane here in Columbus, Ohio. The price changes dramatically at a moments notice so by the time I post this it may be $10 a gallon. 8^( Now aren't you a little sad you bought that expensive 3+ ton V8 SUV?
