What's the price of gas in your area ? - 04-25-2008, 08:28 AM

Gas presently in Houston is $3.42-$3.50 for regular
Diesel $ 4.01

What gets me is we have refineries here, and when i go to the lake approx. 100 miles north, they have gas cheaper.Don't make sense since they have to truck it there and beyond.I heard yesterday that they were going to raise gas in N.J. from $3.17 about another 23cents.

$1.19.9 a LITRE 2 hours west of Ottawa (self serve..full serve is $0.02 more). Thats roughly $4.53 a US Gallon....and Canada has the world's 3rd largest oil reserves...we also are one of the top exporters of crude to the US...go figure....no, the oil companies aren't gouging ANY of us..its our own fault gas prices are so high...

The demand for oil is way up with China and India's expansion and the US and Canadian dollars at an all time low. Oil purchases are based on US currency so there are two dynamics in play. Higher demand and a depreciated dollar. They are making up for the depreciation by higher prices and the demand is supporting the increases.

Perhaps when the slumping US economy reduces the demand for imports the free cash in China and India will dwindle and their demand will go down which will increase the value of the dollar and reduce the the value of oil. They have more money in the Middle east than they know what to do with. It's truly a storage issue for them.

It's also no help that the US is always looking for trouble these days in that region.

$2.65-2.80 Regular

Kidding, $3.43-3.50

Every price jump I hear some lame-a$$ed excuse by the oil companies, oil companies are raking in profits at record levels. Economocs 101, supply and demand.

125.5 per litre here in Sudbury, and it's rumoured to be going as high as 140.0 per litre.

There is 1 station, by my house, that has gas for $3.78 a gallon. Every other station for the next 100 miles is above $4.00. This is the San Francisco Bay Area. I can't wait to get my Lifan and finish my restoration.
