Advertising Brochures for HK0s - 09-01-2008, 03:26 AM

There are two auctions running right now for what I believe is a pretty difficult brochure to find (1970 HK0).

I've followed "collectors" of a variety of cars over the years, and once you have the car sorted out, you by the manual, any brochures/advertising stuff created by the manufacturer and the tool kit. I figure that applies to these bikes as well, especially for the least common models. Does anyone on the list collect this stuff? Outside of the brochure, what else is there that might not be common knowledge?

Ad below reads:

"The fun of not riding a motorcycle"
The wind in your face. A feeling of freedom. Seeing the country. Thats some of the fun of riding a motorcycle. It’s more than just the bike. Much more.

The Catalyst

At Honda we beleive a motorcycle can be the catalyst to bring a boy and his father a little closer together. Maybe because it’s such a great excuse for getting together.

After miles of country riding, there is time to talk about what you’ve said and done. It’s easy to talk… And if the bikes you’re are Honda off-road bikes, we’ll help make it a little easier. Our dependable four-stroke engines run quietly and smoothly. And they have USDA approved spark arrestor/ mufflers to be even quieter and safer for the environment.

Work Becomes Fun

You may discover that a motorcycle brings the fun and closeness of weekend outings home. To a boy, the care and fixing of his bike are almost as fun as the riding. Adjusting the carburator. Cleaning the paint. Decorating the tank. It’s a work of love. And for help and advice, he’ll probably turn to his father. And as a father, you can turn to Honda.

Motorcycle Specialists

Since Honda has more shops than any other motorcycle manufacturer, there’s bound to be one near you. A full service partnership that is staffed with motorcycle specialists, and well stocked with parts. And a Honda dealer is glad to give amateur motorcycle mechanics yourng or old - a helping hand.

Drop by one of these dealerships soon. See the different Honda models. Learn more about motorcycles. We think that the more you learn, the more you’ll discover how good it can be for your son. And how much fun it can be for both of you."

advertising brochures - 09-02-2008, 02:44 AM

Thanks, HornetGod13 for sharing your collection and thanks Chris for offering your favorite. Pony Express, whether you collected those all yourself or whether you gathered them from those that did, its an amazing collection of vintage Japanese advertising. There were quite a few models I'd never seen. Thanks!

While the name on the side sticker of the bike says "CT 70", it's pretty clear to me now that the bike is a "CT-70" based on the promotional material. When I was a kid, it was a "Honda Minitrail" but all of the different models seem to be hyphenated in the text.

It's good to know this kind of stuff is out there.

It's a combination of both. I just wanted them all on one spot so the US enthusiast has somewhere to go to look at some Z50 and CT70 technical information.

I scanned a bunch of the Japanese stuff before I sold it off, and some of the other stuff I acquired from 100's of international websites.

The biggest task I have in front of me is creating an original CT70 gallery with all the original model photos for all of the models made. It's cut and dry until you get into the Japanese stuff that is very hard to figure out years and models.

That will be done over the next year or two.
