Restored vs Original: Can you tell the difference?

I've also replaced them with the aluminium ones. But the black ones are probably the originals. That's nince to know.

check the bolts and make sure there o bolts. and the case numbers go with the frame numbers. and a lot of people don't know this all Honda case bolts have very small punch mark on them you will need a magnifying glass to see them.

That's a very good point.I was unaware of that also til my engine rebuilder had told me about it on my last motor job.
