Z50A K5 Questions - 11-16-2008, 02:54 AM

Hi,

I'm new in the monkey business fun. Got my 1st bike last week. It is a Z50A K5. Same one I had when I was a kid! I have a couple of questions and will upload a couple of pics to help.

1. On the right handle bar, the lever has a place that looks like maybe a mirror should go. I have not seen mirrors on any of the pictures and wonder if maybe this bike has the wronge handle bars on it?
2. I noticed on the block, where the muffler goes in that the block seems to have a chunk missing. I asked the honda dealer about this and he said that is the way these were made. Is this true?

As you can tell by some of my explanations, I'm not a mechanic either. Eager to learn. I'm sure this forum will help.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Not sure about the mirror but as for the chunk from the block on the exhaust port, yes it does look like that. No worries.

Question About Seat - 11-17-2008, 12:41 PM

Ok, my Z50 K5 has what I am guessing is a heat pressed seat cover. Can someone tell me if that is original or repro? I want to restore back to orignial as possible, but the new OEM or NOS seats I see look stiched with a "square" pattern on them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? By the way, I am new at this. I can't even change my own oil, so excuse some of the stupid questions I may ask in this soon to be long thread.

Thanks in advance!
Matt
