Hi all, I'm new here. Looks like a great site.
I just found a Honda Minitrail 50 (Z50A-251742). I looks like it will clean up almost like new. I'm very excited about this find because when I was a kid riding a "home built" the hottest girl I new had one just like it. I have very fond memories of both!
I want to get it running and restore it, so it is great to find this web site. The only thing I see missing / broken is the exhaust is missing and the area where it bolts onto the head has a chunck broken form the head.
A couple questions: what would be the best manual to get and would those exhaust parts and head still be available. Thank you for any help. John

Try DRATV for a Clymer's manual and check out there parts for Z50's,they may have an exhaust for your bike, i'm unsure about Z50's.
As for the head,i can't say without seeing a pic of what you're talking about. These heads originally have a open place at the exhaust port which appears to have a piece missing, but that's how they were made.
If the bike cleans up like new as you have stated, you may want to consider just replacing the exhaust.Good luck with your project and welcome to a great site.
Dennis

The exhausts for these bikes are available on ebay. Some good and some bad, just make sure you look at pics and ask questions. i don't know if you can still order them new, but I am bettin not. Once you get the exhaust, you will have a lot of fun I'm sure. And once you get it running and depending on what state your in, you may be able to get it licensed and drive it on the street legally.

Thank you. I actually got it running last night. Got rid of old gas and took the carb apart / cleaned. Took right off. Only runs with choke on.........but a surprisingly good start.

Thank you, John
